The Telangana State Commission for Women is constituted to improve the status of Women and to enquire into unfair practices affecting Women, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Our Vision

Women of Telangana State to have gender equality, gender justice for holistic development and achieve Sustainable Development Goals by accessing their rights and entitlements.

Functions of the Commission

  • The Women’s Commission works to improve the lives and defend the rights of women.
  • Promotes Gender-sensitive policies to eliminate discrimination against Women
  • Advocates their inclusion and participation in various developmental programs of Government.
  • Recommends to policy makers based on rigorous research and information gathered on fact-finding missions.
  • Ensures that their voices are heard from the local to global level and in various international forums.
  • The empowerment is the surest way for the greater well being of Women through programs like gender sensitization in Telangana.

Smt.Shaheen Afroze assumed the office of Member, Telangana State Commission for Women on 27th Dec 2020.

She completed her graduation in Bachelor of Arts in Hyderabad. she has been the active founder member worked to achieve statehood of Telangana and emerged victorious.

She is currently holding posts of State Secretary, T.R.S. Incharge Chandrayangutta Constituency, President of All India Karuna Society & All India Women Welfare Society, Secretary for Telangana urdu Tahrik, General Secretary for Hyderabad Zilla Mahila Mandala Samakhya, General Secretary Community Development Society M.C.H, Circle-I Hyderabad, Member of Central Peace & Welfare Committee, Hyderabad, South Zone. Earlier, she worked as a Ex-Chairperson for Hyderabad Agriculture Market Committee. In this way she has been involved in various fields in different capacities.

Smt. Sudham Laxmi assumed the office of Member, Telangana State Commission for Women on 27th Dec 2020.

She has completed matriculation and later married Sudham Ravichander. She served as Municipal Corporator Nizambad twice i.e., from 2005 to 2010 and from to 2019, Zone 2 Chairperson for Municipal Corporation Nizamabad, Vice president of Indur Vanitha Women Lions club and also worked as TLF President (Dwakra) for Nizambad town.

Smt. Kumra Eshwari Bhai assumed the office of Member, Telangana State Commission for Women On 27th Dec 2020.

In year 2001 she elected has MPTC for Dhodanda Grama Panchayat and from 2003 to 2006 worked as MPTC, Indravelli village. Later on held the post of TRS State secretary and actively took part in Telangana movement agitation, while work as President of Kolam Community of Adilabad Dist. she created awareness on welfare schemes/Programms among the people of that community and also worked as president of women wing.

Smt.Gaddala Padma assumed the office of Member, Telangana Commission for Women on December 27, 2020.

She completed her graduation in Jangaon District. From 2001 to 2014 she worked for creation of the new state, Telanagana, motivated public in General Body meetings and emerged victorious. Further, from 2010-14 she worked as Anganwadi Teacher in Gandiramavaram village of Jangaon district. Later, from 2014-19 she worked as chairperson, ZPP, for Erstwhile Warangal Dist. During her work period, she conducted special meeting with educational officials for to attain 100% result in SSC Exams. In addition to this she has given big her support to old age homes and participated in many other social welfare activities.

Smt. Dr. Kommu Uma Devi Yadav assumed the office of Member, Telangana Commission for Women on December 27, 2020.

She is a women who worked in myriad of activities see it in political, social work etc., She is currently holding the post of State Mahila President, State president for TSRTC BC Employees Welfare Association, President of Telangana state Construction Worker Welfare Association and General Secretary for National BC Welfare Association. Earlier, she worked in various capabilities like related to women, Human Rights, NRI Cultural association, poor, gulf victims, pollution control & environmental protection, women empowerment, homes for old age persons etc,. For all the services she has done the Govt./Universities has recognized her capabilities/contribution and awarded her at international and national award.
